Course Accreditation & CME Eligibility
Accreditation & Continuing Education Credits
In support of advancing clinical excellence and improving patient care, the American Academy of Cosmetic Medicine® (AACM™) offers comprehensive educational programs designed for licensed healthcare professionals practicing aesthetic and cosmetic medicine. AACM™ is committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based education that supports safe practice, professional development, and optimal patient outcomes across the healthcare team.
AACM™’s educational activities are developed and delivered in alignment with nationally recognized accreditation standards. Through an accredited educational partnership, these programs meet the requirements established by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to provide continuing education for the healthcare team. AACM™’s programs are also recognized under ADA CERP standards for continuing dental education.
Credit Eligibility
Getting certification from the American Academy of Cosmetic Medicine requires two steps.
AACM™ educational activities are designed to offer continuing education credit for multiple healthcare disciplines, in accordance with applicable accreditation criteria and professional standards. Credit eligibility is available for:
- Physicians — AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™
- Nurses — Continuing Nursing Education contact hours
- Physician Assistants — AAPA Category 1 CME credits (approval valid through January 19, 2027)
- Dental Professionals — ADA CERP–recognized continuing education credits
Credit Claiming & Participation
Participants should claim only the credit commensurate with their level of participation in each educational activity. AACM™ encourages active engagement and completion of all required educational components to support meaningful learning and responsible credit reporting.
Certificate of Completion
Upon successful completion of the course and fulfillment of all program requirements, each learner will receive a certificate of completion via email. This certificate will document the applicable continuing education credits earned and may be used for professional records, credentialing, and licensure requirements, as applicable.
AACM™ offers three possible pathways to board certification:
First, the beginner course is recommended for students entirely new to cosmetic injections. This provides an overview of the relevant facial anatomy, how to prepare the products and injections, and hands-on training for neurotoxins and dermal fillers. Upon full completion of the one-day course, students receive a completion certificate.
The comprehensive training course is a two-day training that covers the material in the beginner course plus managing patient expectations, the uses of non-dissolvable fillers, and more complex injection techniques. This course is recommended for students who completed the beginner course and want to perform complex injections. This comprehensive course will teach you novel treatments that are off label. Upon full completion of the one-day course, students receive a completion certificate.
AACM™ also offers a fully online course that involves 8.5 hours of educational materials that can be completed at your own pace over 180 days. Students are eligible to earn 8.5 CME Credits. Learners who enroll in the online class also have the opportunity to come in-person and shadow our instructors to gain real world experience and training. While shadowing is not required, it is highly beneficial for those completing the online course.
Completion of one of our 3 courses is required to receive CME credits.

Becoming A Certified Physician Injector
Most medical certification entities that regulate physicians require the physician to have training competency in the procedures they perform. These training and certifications are also important when it comes to malpractice. Technically, there is no strict requirement that physicians need to be trained to inject neuromodulator and filler. Doctors have the skills to perform these injections safely.
Simplify your practice’s continuing education requirements with our fully accredited aesthetic curriculum. We are one of the few providers authorized to award credits across the medical spectrum.
This course meets the strict criteria for Physician CME (ACCME) to award 8.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.
Choosing a provider with this level of diverse accreditation ensures that your aesthetic training meets rigorous, cross-disciplinary medical standards.
